Sd.Kfz. 234/2 - German Puma Tank WW2
The Sd.Kfz. 234/2, also known as the Puma, was a German armoured reconnaissance vehicle used during World War II. The 234/2 was the second out of 4 variants of the Sd Kfz 234 series, known for its eight wheel design ideal for off road and all terrain mobility.
The Puma had a fully enclosed turret which was originally designed for the VK 1602 Leopard light tank. Additionally, it had one 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 gun and an MG 42 machine gun as a secondary armament.
The 234 series was the first and only tank that used an air-cooled diesel engine, the Tatra 103 V12. With this engine, the Sd.Kfz. 234/2 could reach speeds of up to 90 km/h (56 mph), making it one of the fastest vehicles in its class.
In total, 101 German Puma Tanks were built between 1943 and 1944.
