The Seaview is an iconic submarine from the classic American Sci Fi TV series ‘Voyage to the bottom of the sea’ that aired from 1964-68 and was based on the film of the same name from 1961.

Created by Irwin Allen, this series was the first from the four popular series made by Irwin, including Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel & Land of the Giants.

The show focuses on a marine adventure, centred around a nuclear submarine called the Seaview which was much ahead of its time and had a futuristic design. The Seaview was operated under the Bureau of Marine Exploration and led by core crew members, Admiral Harriman Nelson and Commander Lee Crane who later became captain of the submarine after the murder of the previous captain.
