RAAF F 111 Crew Escape Module

The F-111C, also known as the "Flying Pig", was an important part of the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) fleet from the early 1970s until its retirement in 2010. It was a variant of the F-111 Aardvark tactical strike aircraft and was designed to meet Australina military requirements. The plane’s roles and responsibilities were succeeded by the Boeing F/A - 18E/F Super Hornet and later taken over by the F-35 Lightning II.

The F-111C RAAFs was originally developed by General Dynamics and popular for its variable-geometry wings, which enabled it to thrive in both low-level and high-altitude interception roles. It was so called ‘Pig’ due to it’s long nose and ability to follow terrains at low altitudes.

The escape capsule of the F-111C included the cockpit, and its design was part of new aviation technology.
