Introduced in April 2012, the Toyota 86 is a lightweight, front-engine rear-wheel drive sports car that was co-developed by Toyota and Subaru. The toyota 86 along with the Subaru BRZ are two jointly developed cars that were produced at the Gunma assembly plant of Subaru.

It is powered by a boxer 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine featuring Toyota's D-4S direct injection technology. The ground-hugging form provides the car with a low centre of gravity, a design idea inspired by the Toyota AE86, a previous Corolla model known for drift racing and other race competitions and regulations.

Coupled with its interior styling, everything about this car has been newly designed in the aim of providing a fun driving experience.
